Job Summary
The Price Book Specialist is a key member of our Catalog Development team. Their primary duties are making prompt and accurate changes to the product and pricing that make up our supported catalogs in accordance with every new price book released by our manufacturer partners. These catalog databases are used every day by our thousands of users, who trust these catalogs are comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date.
Responsibilities
- Read industry price books with a high degree of comprehension
- Process the data entry and worksheet population of new pricing for existing product
- Create and add new products as required using in-house software
- Research and resolve issues within the catalogs as reported by our customers

- Hardware/Hollow Metal team leads
- Director of Catalog Development
Requirements
Education:
- A university-level degree/college diploma in construction supply or management with exposure to industry-related software.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in the construction industry
- Experience in construction-related software
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- The successful candidate will have the ability to adapt quickly to new technology, show an aptitude for abstract thinking, show strong organizational and communication skills, and be willing to continue to develop their skills through training, both coached and self-taught.
Physical
- Body Positions: Sitting, standing
- Body Movements: Walking, repetitive computer use
Mental
- Mathematical: High-school level or better mathematical skills required.
- Language: High-school level English language skills required.
- Mechanical: None, though familiarity with construction assemblies is an asset.
- Spatial: Comfort with the Microsoft Office environment. A high degree of adaptability to new and evolving software. Ability to work effectively and efficiently under deadlines. Ability to effectively share digital documentation in accordance with company protocols.

Work Conditions:
- 40-hour workweek.
- Some emergency support during evenings and weekends possible.
- Extended periods of sitting.
Location:
- Our head office is in Toronto and we have team members working remotely throughout North America
Duties and Tasks
Building and modifying product worksheets in proprietary software; keeping and maintaining clear, concise digital notes; seeking guidance and direction as necessary for performance of duties; demonstrating good judgment in investigating problems; respecting the confidentiality of company, customer, and personnel information; maintaining cooperative working relationships with supervisors and other staff members; demonstrating ability to handle difficult situations tactfully; planning and time use; consistently showing ability to recognize and deal with priorities; performing all duties in an independent manner with little supervision; recognizing and performing duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned; attendance and reliability; providing proper notification and advance notice of absence; reporting to work in a timely manner; assuming responsibility for staying aware of changes in company policy; performing other duties and tasks as may be assigned.
Measures of Performance
- Complete assigned catalog projects within their assigned timeframe, including testing;
- Work and communicate effectively with the team lead to ensure good information sharing;
- Set and achieve professional betterment goals (“Rocks”) every ninety days;
- Handle assigned support tickets within the parameters of the Service Level Agreement;
